About us

We are a not for profit community based organisation working with recently arrived migrants, refugees and asylum seekers.  We have an RTO, New Futures Training, with campuses in Coburg, Braybrook and Epping as well as a great arts and activity space New Futures Creative in Coburg.

New Futures Creative is home to a Refugee/Asylum Seeker Textile enterprise called Second Stitch. This enterprise enhances employment opportunities for those who have fled persecution and danger in their own countries to seek a safe haven for themselves and their families in Australia.  Second Stitch has developed a small alterations and products business that delivers employment outcomes to refugees and asylum seekers while providing mentoring, training and support to participants. The seamstresses from Second Stitch are mentored by volunteer industry professionals and supported with communication and customer services training. Your support in utilising the service will help provide meaningful employment opportunities for our wonderful seamstresses and through engagement with Second Stitch will give them a new future.
