Herald Sun News Story - VICSEG New Futures Refugee Student Engagement Program


The Refugee Student Engagement Project has been operating in Melton since 2014 and in Wyndham since 2015.
In  December  more than 40 students from Wyndham and Melton celebrated a successful year of the project at an event in Melton Library.

Many of the project friends and supporters were there to celebrate with us.
Mr  Don Nardella  the State Member of Parliament for Melton spoke to students and community members about the vale of Education.
Ms Alexandra White represented the Gandel foundation a major sponsor of the project and congratulated students on their achievements.
Mr Peter Blunden  Life Long Learning Manager Melton City Council  ,Professor Jenny Sharples from Victoria University and Mr John Zika VICSEG Executive Director  presented certificates of achievement to students. Teachers from participating schools attended and supported students to present their community based projects as did mentors from Victoria University.
