Lullaby Choir performs at launch of Melbourne AMEP

Our recently formed Lullaby Choir performed at Melbourne Polytechnic in Preston as part of the celebrations to mark the launch Melbourne AMEP - the Adult Migrant English Program.

The choir sang two lullabies from its international repertoire:  Yalla tnam Reema (Arabic) and Chanda Mama (Hindi).  Both lullabies are hugely popular throughout the Middle East and the Indian Subcontinent respectively.  The performance was very well received, with smiles of recognition – and some tears – from many in the audience.

The members of the choir were also delighted that their first public, paid ‘gig’ had received such a great response and look forward to more opportunities to perform in the future.

Since the start of 2017 the choir has invited members of the community to join.

Rehearsals are held on Fridays from 10.00 to 11.30am every fortnight at New Futures Creative.
