Refugee Student Engagement and Support Program receives funding from the Victorian Government

Refugee Student Engagement and Support Program,  in 2017 the program won the Victorian Multicultural Award for Excellence in Education. Subsequently, in 2018  three Victorian Government departments have provided programmatic funding which enables the program to continue in schools in Melton, Wyndham and the inner Western suburbs of Brimbank and Maribyrnong.

The new funding allows us to continue and expand support for over 100 young people attending  15 secondary colleges across 5 municipalities in the western suburbs.

The Refugee Student Engagement and support program commenced in Melton 2014  with support from a number of philanthropic sources, including Gandel Philanthropy,  Australian Communities Foundation, Brockhoff Foundation, Mantana Foundation,  Bennelong Foundation and the Danks Trust.

The following year it was expanded into Wyndham with a seeding grant from the Victorian Department of Premier and Cabinet.  Continuation for an additional three years was achieved thanks to the ongoing generosity of our two major funding partners,  William Buckland Foundation and Gandel Philanthropy.
